This study of offshore eelgrass from Dungeness to Clear Water Bay was conducted in 2006 to determine the location and density of eelgrass which is essential to support of a healthy marine life.
The only area where eelgrass is missing is offshore of the Port Angeles Dump where a marine life dead zone exists.

Looking for Steelhead

Annual survey of spawning Steelhead scheduled for Jan 12,2010

Arnold Schouten, Rudy Albrecht and Harley Oien met at the Port Angeles Dump to walk Dry Creek to the Kaycee Falls in search of spawning salmon or their Redds.  The water was running in large quantities at the mouth of Dry Creek and was too silted for seeing the creek bottom.  It was decided to wait until the water cleared.  Frequent rains have kept the stream running this month.  The tide was high and the cut where the mouth of Dry Creek runs into the Strait was making the transit from the Strait very easy for spawning fish.
